Acknowledging their cultural differences is just the first step, but actually embracing and celebrating them comes from an attitude that deeply respects and values who they are as people. This will require you to go the extra mile... and then some.

This masterclass event will examine cultural diversity in the context of how you can extend the standards of customer service in your business. It will highlight the cultural values and behaviours of our visitors. Interactive workshops will consider how we present our cultural characteristics and engage with the visitors who travel to Northern Ireland not only to see our beautiful country but also to meet our local people. With over 10,000 people trained in WorldHost customer service programmes in the last 2 years the event will celebrate this success and you will have an opportunity to find out more about the training and how to avail of funding.

Richard Donald Lewis is a British linguist, cross-cultural communication consultant, and author. He speaks 10 languages (French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Japanese).

His company, Richard Lewis Communications, provides cross-cultural communication training, as well as language training for international executives.

One of his books, When Cultures Collide, has sold over 500,000 copies and won the prestigious US Executive Club Book award in 1997. He currently lectures throughout the world on cross-cultural issues.

In 1997, Richard was awarded a knighthood in Finland, in view of his 40 years' experience helping Finland to develop its international links, including assisting Finland in its preparation for EU presidency.

In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of Knight Commander, Order of the Lion of Finland.
